Tara put new programming on hold during the pandemic, and is planning to offer family dance workshops (ages 3-93) and workshops for belly dancers (teen/adult).  To keep our unvaccinated children safe, workshops will be held outdoors this fall, or postponed further.

Outdoor classes will be held in Newton Highlands:

In this class, parents/caregivers have the opportunity to participate in an arts activitiy with their child/children, without being the teacher.  This class was inspired by the work of Jeff Bliss, a remarkable dance educator at Jacobs Pillow.  Children have the chance to create and collaborate with their caregivers, engaging with their grownups in a wholly different way.  Using music from around the world and drawing on her background in Indian, West African and Japanese art forms, Tara leads the group through warm-up activities, teaches a phrase, and guides families to create movement, tell stories and have fun together.  No dance experience needed!  Parents and children, aunts and nephews, grandfathers and granddaughters or other caregivers with children welcome.

Thursday, Sept. 23rd from 9:30-10:15am for children ages 3-5 and their grownups.

Class cost is $25/family group of two or three.

Saturday, Sept. 25th from 10:00-11:00am for families with children ages 5+.

Class cost is $25/family group of two or three; $35/family group of four or more.

If payment is a hardship, please contact Tara for sliding scale information.
